Unlimited charging.

While you have the car,

you never have to think about the cost of charging.
The BOXIV SHARE share rate includes charging at Tesla Superchargers, so you can charge as often as you like on the road, at no extra cost.

More than 120 Tesla Supercharger locations across Japan are open to you.
There is nothing to set up.
Pull up at a Tesla Supercharger, plug the cable into the car, and charging starts.

* Idle fees for leaving the car at a Tesla Supercharger after it finishes charging are not included — you pay those.

Charging at public chargers.

You can also charge at the EV chargers at highway rest stops, hotels and other public locations — you cover the cost.
We’ll lend you the adapters a Tesla needs to use them.

CHAdeMO adapter
¥1,100 / 24 hours

An adapter for charging a Tesla at the public DC fast chargers (CHAdeMO) at highway rest stops and similar spots.

J1772 adapter
¥0 (carried in the car as standard)

Finding a charging spot

EVsmart is a handy way to find charging spots.
On the search screen, set these two filters:
- Model (車種): “Tesla” (テスラ)
- Charging type (充電タイプ): “CHAdeMO” or “charger with cable” (ケーブル付充電器)

* You pay for charging at a public charger.

Things to know about charging

Idle fees at Tesla Superchargers

If you leave the car at a Tesla Supercharger for 5 minutes or more after it finishes charging, an idle fee set by Tesla Japan G.K. may apply.
You pay that fee, and we bill it to you after you return the car.

Watch out for running out of charge

Keep the battery at 10% or above at all times, so the car is never stranded with a dead battery.
If running out of charge causes a vehicle breakdown, you are responsible for the repair cost.

Using DC fast chargers (CHAdeMO)

You need a special adapter to use a CHAdeMO fast charger.
Contact us through the form to find out whether a particular station lends one.
You also cover the cost of charging.

Authentication at public chargers

Public chargers, DC fast and AC alike, generally require an authentication card, and BOXIV SHARE does not lend them out.
Follow the instructions on the charger itself to check in as a guest and pay by credit card.

No charging on PowerX chargers (CHAdeMO)

Tesla Japan has announced that using a PowerX DC fast charger can cause a vehicle breakdown. Never charge on one.
If you do and the car develops a fault, the repair cost is at your expense.

How long charging takes

Charging from 20% to 80% usually takes about this long.
Plan your charging ahead.
Tesla Supercharger: 30 minutes
DC fast charger (CHAdeMO): 1 hour
AC charger: 6 hours
