    Find a station on the map and set your pick-up and return times.

    See which cars are free and what your dates cost, right on the station sheet.

    Address, nearest train stations, and where the car is parked — no guesswork on the day.

  5. 5 Confirm your booking

    Check the dates, station, and coverage, then confirm. Every payment is cashless.

  6. 1 Time to go

    As the start time nears, the app lets you know. Tap through to begin.

  7. 2 To the station

    Directions, how to get in, and the three pick-up steps in one place.

  8. 3 Unlock the trunk

    Find the car by its plate and open the trunk for your bags before anything else.

Can I change my pickup or return time after a booking is confirmed?

To change your pickup or return time, cancel the existing booking and make a new one.

There is no cancellation fee within 12 hours of booking, as long as you cancel at least one hour before pickup.

After that 12-hour window, the standard cancellation fee applies.

What if someone other than the person who booked wants to drive?

Apply through the additional driver form.

Registering an additional driver costs ¥550 per person. Once you submit the form, we send that driver a license-verification link and a payment link.

Only drivers verified by BOXIV SHARE may operate the vehicle. If an unverified driver causes an accident or a breakdown, insurance does not apply.

I don't see add-ons like the CHAdeMO adapter in the app. Can I still get one?

Equipment add-ons can't be booked in the app yet, but some stations can provide them.

You say everything happens in the app — what does pickup actually look like?

Here is the whole flow on the day of your trip.

  1. At your pickup time, a pickup banner appears in the app.
  2. When you reach the station or delivery point, tap “Start pickup”.
  3. Follow the prompts to check the car for damage and unlock it.
  4. During your trip, use the key card waiting in the center console.

How much range will the car have when I pick it up?

It depends on how much charge the previous driver left behind.

To keep that level high, BOXIV SHARE runs a Charging Incentive Program program that applies a discount or a surcharge based on the battery level at return.

I need to charge mid-trip. Does it cost extra, and where should I go?

Charging at a Tesla Supercharger, or at the charger installed at your pickup station, is included in your rate at no extra cost.

You can find Superchargers on the car's navigation screen or on Tesla's map.

Do I need to charge the car before I return it?

There is no minimum battery level required at return.

That said, standby draw after return can leave the car flat, so if the battery is at or below 25%, please top it up at the nearest charger first.

Returning at 25% or below also triggers a surcharge under the Charging Incentive Program program.

What if traffic makes me late for my return time?

If you are running late, extend your trip from the “Share Car” tab in the app.

Extensions are not always available — it depends on the next booking — and you cannot extend once your return time has already passed.

Any unapproved overrun, including one where an extension was not possible, is billed at double the normal hourly rate, and insurance does not apply.
